What Truly Defines Success: A 9 to 5 Job Or A Tension Free Life?
If success and happiness could be valued through money, one can’t see meager jiggling and laughing around covered with mud. Or say this quest of debate on success and satisfaction would no longer be in knowledge. Well! If we discuss about what is success and what matters it’s the most? The answer comes to be divergent; first that is external and depends on how much one earns and second that is internal and depends up on inner satisfaction. Also, where earning is wholly monetary, inner satisfactions are factorial and depend on hobby and hopping.
Furthermore, majority now a day defines success to be achieved through a high profiled job, air conditioned house, a big car and crore’s of bank balance that falls into the category influenced by external success. Thus, nothing more than just a worldly success has given rise to 9 to 5 jobs, which is thought to be the source to achieve everything one wants. However, when needs and thrust arises in 9 to 5 jobs, one’s interest and impulsive adrenaline decreases. Moreover, all these gives a competitive and materialistic definition of “success”, that leads to stress in the due course of pressure, exerted to achieve more and more. Hence, working hard for something we don’t care about, yet want it is called stress, but working hard for something we love to do is called passion.
Undoubtedly, we all need money today, but this is high time to think that do we need money on the stake of our health? Are we really sick without a 4BHK home, 6 figured salaries or a luxury’s car that, we are just chasing them on account of our serenity? Ok let’s be a bit generic and exemplary, having a 9 to 5 jobs in a multinational company with a handsome package to avail all these facilities is no more than the external marker of the success. And to get a reputed job, we often repress our vision, ambitions, and goals and submit our life to this race of superficial success.
Examples that shows the preference–
- Forbes highlights the truth of richness and reflects that majority of the richest person across the map are those who has done exactly what they wanted to do. A 9 to 5 jobs has not made them rich rather their own creativity, passion and enthusiasm has given them this status.
Also, there are many reputed 9 to 5 job owners who have so called all those amenities that one can dream for, but are still unhappy –
- A very true example picked from a personal interview section of Vijaya bank senior manager Mrs. Mamta Singh states that, after being on a senior position in a government sector and owning ample of facilities from medical, insurance to all the luxury allowances, she still was not satisfied with her job. One could really wonder about what more an employee would expect from his/her job? Well! The gap generated in case of Mamta was because her rapidly transferable job and her declining health consequently.
There are many such employees who are suffering and struggling with their job, but have their pockets and accounts overloaded. Now, the question arises here is, can we really mark such employees in the bracket of success? Or else, whether they consider themselves to be successful? I don’t expect a very confidently positive answer here.
Thus, it’s better not to choose that game, by which you are not comfortable with. Rather, know your aim, vision, priorities and accomplishments in life, in order to be tension free and enjoy the eternal success.
